  1. I think you’re amazing! I’m a makeup artist who just purchased an eco skin/body care, makeup and accessories store and I love your blog! I’ll be starting one soon as well – yay!
    Can’t wait to read more!

  2. Hi!

Do you know anyone in the Monterey, CA area who could teach me how to wear makeup? Currently I wear no makeup at all but I might like to start if I can learn how to do it using only cruelty free, environmentally friendly products in a very natural style. What do you think?

Thanks in advance for any clues!

    • Hi Megan,
Sorry that I don’t know anyone in Monterey. My best advice is to find the “how” first, and then you’ll know what kind of products you should be looking for. (maybe you don’t need foundation, for example) If your local health & beauty stores don’t have a makeup artist on hand, consider going to a more mainstream counter at the mall to learn to create your most natural style, and find your perfect makeup online if necessary. Bare Escentuals boutiques in malls have artists, as does Origins. Sephora has makeup artists, too, and you could ask them to only use products from their “green” lines on you. Take notes. Learn what looks you like, and the recreate them with your favorite brands. Happy experimenting!

    • Hi Caroline,
Thanks for your green interest! I’m out of the Bay for awhile, and am recommending that folks get their lessons from retail/boutique makeup artists which offer “green” lines. At Sephora, you can request that an artist only uses products from Tarte, Josie Maran, Korres, or Bare Minerals. But before BUYING anything, you still have to READ THOSE LABELS! Best wishes:)

  3. Hi!

We’ve got a fun new contest here at Daily Glow and I was hoping you would enter and possibly post up at greenmakeupartist.com!

Want to go green but not sure of where to start? In honor of Earth Month, Daily Glow and green beauty expert Paige Padgett are giving five lucky fans the chance to make over their makeup bags with $150 of natural beauty products.

It would be awesome if you could point your readers to the entry guidelines:

We’d love to give you a Follow Friday Twitter shout out in return!

    Let me know!

    All the best,
    Blaine

  4. Hi Aimee, I am an image consultant in SF. I typically take my clients to the department store makeup lines to get a makeup wearing lesson and purchase makeup. I have a client that requested a “green” makeup lesson. She will also want to purchase tools and makeup for a “green” daily regimen. Can you help me with this project? I would also like to learn more about non-chemical options in makeup. Look forward to chatting with you.

  5. Hi Aimee, I just found your site and am trying (with no luck so far!) to find a green make-up artist to do my make-up this summer for my wedding, near San Francisco. Can you recommend anyone good in the Bay (or any chance you would be interested)?
    With many thanks!

  6. I really love makeup, but ever since I moved to the US it has been so hard for me to figure out, which brands I can trust. In Europe it is quite simple, so I was a bit lost. Your blog really saved me from some bad buys. Thank you 🙂

  7. Is there a natural & safe eye lash enhancer you could recommend? I was looking at the tarte cosmetics option and the Peter Thomson Roth option but both have ingredients I don’t understand.

  8. Hello, now I just learned the other day that I may have rosecea/redness of the skin. Now i hove been looking for a decent primer for my skin that is green tinted but I do not want to spend $30 on a half oz bottle of primer! I would like something that works well especially for the money I spend on it. I also do not feel the need to spend the rest of my life taking pills for just a little redness when it really hasn’t bothered me until now (I’m 28 years old) but if it’s needed then so be it but if I can get around it with using some primer on my face b4 make-up than great! Btw I really liked your post on the “Mean Reds” you called it! It helped me thanks!
    Laura
